- In the heart of the Nevada desert, not
far from the top secret US military base zone 51, is highway
375. There are many accounts here of strange happenings in the
sky. So ? Top secret military technology or extra-terrestrial
activity ?

-
- A simple, abandoned letter box
on the side of highway 375 is precisely where it happened, Chuck
Clark told us.
-
- What can a letter box in the
middle of a desert be used for ? All there are here are tornadoes
full of dust, shriveled bushes and the asphalt ribbon of highway
375 which disappears on the horizon... and sometimes mysterious
lights in the sky over the forbidden zone. "The video was
recorded here Chuck tells us. The lights appeared over there
in the night. They filmed the thing through the windscreen but
didn't dare get out of the car".
-
-
-
- Unfortunately you can't see
much on the video... Kathleen Ford was luckier, she managed to
solve some of the technical problems. "If you want to photograph
UFOs, you'd best use a manual camera, the magnetic field surrounding
UFOs cuts out all electrical machines. I took my best pictures
when I closed my eyes and just concentrated. I press the button
when I feel their presence".
-
- On highway 375 in broad daylight
everything seems calm... Suddenly, with a deafening noise, a
dark shape flies low over us at amazing speed. "Don't panic
it's only a US-Air-Force B1 Chuck explains with a grin. We are
on the boarder of zone 51".
-
-
-
- Zone 51 has to be the key to
this mystery ! Since the Roswell affair was concluded (the author
of the hoax was found out), UFO hunters have all turned towards
zone 51, code name "Dreamland".
-
- In "ID4", remember
: this is where the US-Air-Force goes to fight off the alien
attack. The script is based on a legend that claims that US-Air-Force
was studying a flying saucer that crashed in the 50s. Some say
that the military experiment with extraterrestrial technologies
and even that ETs regularly land in "Dreamland". This
would explain all the activity in the sky and the incredible
surveillance that goes on in order to protect a zone which is
the size of a department of France ! " I don't know for
sure that these apparitions are extraterrestrial, explains Chuck".
- Still, too many weird things
happen in Dreamland. I think the main sites must be underground
with huge ten level high hangers.
-
-
-
- What are they hiding ? The base
has a runway that is incredibly long, twice as long as is needed
for a space shuttle to land. To land what ? There isn't a plane
in the world that needs such a runway.
-
- Every day hundreds of scientists
and technicians who work on the base are ferried back and forth
from Las Vegas and San-Francisco by a fleet of Boeing 737s. What
are they working on ? Chuck Clark's questions are worthy of an
episode of X-Files. To study Dreamland, Chuck is living in Rachel
,a tiny village bordering the zone on highway 375, made out of
caravans and sheet metal.
-
-
-
- t's like being in the film "Baghdad
Cafe", the UFO hunters get together at the "Little
Ale Inn" where the motto is "Earthlings Always Welcome".
Deep in the desert, Joe and Pat
Travis make their great "Alien Burgers", famous in
the whole of Nevada, and rent out rooms in the caravans to people
who come to investigate about the site.
-
- You can see videos and photos
that were taken on highway 375, now renamed "Extraterrestrial
Highway". They also have a library specialized in UFOs,
zone 51 and other State secrets. Twice a year they have the "UFO
Friendship Camp-out" where scientists, witnesses and other
victims who were kidnapped by UFOs talk about their experiences
and exchange information so as to try and understand what's going
on.
- Armed with camcorders, powerful
telephoto lenses and telescopes, these UFO spotters watch "dreamland"
like hawks 24 hours a day from the top of "Tikeboo Peak",
the only legal spot from which you can see the site. Never the
less night after night, watch after watch, the plot thickens...
And Rachel becomes more and more famous !

Chuck
Clark is on the case.
-
- Born in Santa Monica in February
1946, Chuck Clarck is one of the top "Dreamland" specialists
and he has exclusive info. His passion for UFOs goes back to
august 57 when, as a boy, he witnessed one of the most amazing
sittings yet. "It was in Los Angeles, I was 11 and was playing
softball as usual with my friends. Around 2.30 pm , nine bright
luminous discs forming a triangle appeared above the city. After
having played hide and seek for an hour with F-89 US Air-Force
fitter planes, they mysteriously disappeared. It's incredible
: They were seen by over half the population but strangely we
never heard any more about it neither in the papers nor on TV".
Since that day Chuck has been trying to solve the mystery.
